Student Organizations

The College of Agriculture faculty encourages our students to become involved in campus life by joining student organizations, especially those related to their disciplines. Listed below are clubs and organizations associated with the College of Agriculture.

Agribusiness Club 
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Bert Greenwalt - bertg@AState.edu

A social and professional organization for all majors with an interest in agricultural production, marketing or agricultural communications. Activities include tours of local agribusiness and guest speakers from industry leaders.

Alpha Tau Alpha
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Nina Crutchfield - ncrutchfield@AState.edu

A national honorary organization which promotes the highest ideals and standards of the Agricultural Education profession by enabling closer relationships with individuals who have chosen teaching or a related field within agriculture.

Cattleman's Club
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Hunter Burnett -rburnett@astate.edu

The Astate Collegiate Cattlemen’s Association is a student organization that dives into Arkansas agriculture that investigates the advancement of the economic, educational, political and social interests of Arkansas Agriculture and the cattle industry. This group also is used to support the policies and programs of the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association and to meet the needs of local cattlemen through county program and activities. It is also here to assist members in developing professional relationships and contacts in the industry of animal agriculture production, particularly the beef industry, by the means of traveling to local production sectors, attending conventions, tradeshows, and regional beef industry meetings.

Collegiate Farm Bureau 
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Jacob Manlove - jmanlove@AState.edu

Our mission as a student organization is to enhance agricultural leaders, develop citizenship among participants, provide networking opportunities, educate individuals of the importance of agriculture and how Farm Bureau works as a voice for agriculture through the county and national organization, and to learn the importance and need for community-minded individuals who will lead, teach, and serve as leaders in their community. 

Delta Tau Alpha 
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Bud Kennedy - dkennedy@AState.edu

An honorary society for students majoring in any field of agriculture. It is open to students who have completed at least 45 hours of course work, 12 of which must have been in agriculture, and have a GPA in the upper 35% of all students in the College of Agriculture.

Equine Club 
Faculty Advisor: Ms. Cassie Burdett - cburdett@AState.edu

The purpose of the Equine Club is to educate A-State students about the history, understanding, use, and care of horses. We provide a safe learning environment for students with no prior experience to develop proper horsemanship skills. We also compete in some local and state competitions and host equine related events at ASU. All majors are welcome to join the Equine Club.

FFA Alumni
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Nina Crutchfield - ncrutchfield@AState.edu

For students who want to continue their leadership development while at the university. We are affiliated with the national FFA organization.  Membership is open to all who are pursuing a degree in agriculture and/or were in the FFA in high school. The goals and purposes of the organization are to develop leadership, provide recreational and educational activities or programs, provide a service function to the Agricultural Education profession and support scholarly activity.

JB Penn Trading Club
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Jacob Manlove- jmanlove@astate.edu

MANNRS
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Nina Crutchfield - ncrutchfield@AState.edu

MANRRS is a national society that welcomes people of all racial and ethnic groups with the mission to promote academic and professional advancement by empowering minorities in agriculture, natural resources, and related sciences. MANRRS provides access to valuable connections, internships, conferences, and opportunities for students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, agriculture, mathematics, or related STEAM careers.

Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club 
Faculty Advisor: Dr. Jerica Rich - jerich@AState.edu

Promotes leadership skills and provides opportunities for members to develop friendships with others interested in veterinary medicine.  Membership is open to all students interested in veterinary medicine. The club holds regular meetings, attends seminars related to veterinary medicine, visits with practicing veterinarians, and tours veterinary schools.

Sigma Alpha Sorority

A professional agricultural sorority named for "Sisters in Agriculture."
