Accounting Student Jordan Cairer Receives $15,000 PCAOB Scholarship
JONESBORO – An Arkansas State University student has been awarded a 2025-26 Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) scholarship, totaling $15,000.
Junior accounting major Jordan Cairer, a native of St. James, Mo., is one of 685 students across the country to receive this award.
“It means everything to me to receive this scholarship. The nomination from the department, from professors that I trust and respect, as well as receiving this from PCAOB, is confirmation to me that I am on the right path,” said Cairer. “This scholarship is so incredibly generous and will help me in being able to continue attending A-State and focusing on my studies.”
“The Department of Accounting is extremely proud of Jordan for earning this distinguished award,” said Dr. James Doering, chair of the Department of Accounting.
Doering, who is also HCJ CPAs and Advisors/Louis and Ann Schaff Distinguished Professor of Accounting in the Neil Griffin College of Business, said, “She is an exceptional student in our accounting program and truly deserving of this PCAOB scholarship and recognition."
“Scholarships like this help students like me pursue an education with financial freedom. And this means more to me than I could ever express. The PCAOB scholarship allows me to put all of my effort into learning, so that I may go into the field of public accounting and be able to give back to students that are in my position. A-State has proven to be such a blessing in the way that they partner students with resources like the PCAOB scholarship—it has blown me away,” said Cairer.
Cairer is part of the accelerated master’s program for accounting. She plans to graduate with her undergraduate degree in spring 2027, followed by a master’s in accountancy that fall.
