Faculty Promotions and Tenure for 2025-26 are Approved by Board of Trustees
JONESBORO – Arkansas State University has promoted 26 faculty members in academic rank and awarded tenure to 19. The ASU System Board of Trustees Thursday approved the recommendations from the Promotion, Retention and Tenure Committee and university administration, announced Dr. Calvin White Jr., provost and executive vice president.
The actions are effective July 1, the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year.
“Each promotion and tenure granted affirms our faculty’s enduring commitment to research, teaching, and meaningful service," White emphasized. "Their achievements strengthen and advance the academic mission of Arkansas State University."
Five faculty members promoted to professor are Nicole Arnell, art; Dr. Veena Kulkarni, sociology; Dr. Rollin Tusalem, political science; Dr. Amanda Wheeler-Gryffin, exercise science; and Dr. Kellie Wilson-Buford, history.
The 21 faculty members promoted to associate professor are Dr. Amanda Carpenter, public health; Dr. Teresa Campbell Clark, nursing; Dr. Savannah Cormier, psychology; Dr. Sarah Dearing, nursing; Dr. Hrishikesh Desai, accounting; Dr. Jim Farris, physical therapy; Dr. Robert (Drew) Fleming, mechanical engineering; Dr. Stephanie Gotay, counseling; Dr. Kyle Gustafson, biological sciences; Dr. Matt Harmon, nursing; Dr. Sarah Hooper, veterinary medicine; Dr. Rachael Isom, English; Dr. Brianna Larson, theatre; Dr. Kristin Leitterman, music; Dr. Dwayne Powell, accounting; Trinity Pullam, nursing; Dr. Jerica Rich, animal science; Dr. Kristen Ruccio, English; Todd Sanders, occupational therapy; Dr. Andrew Sweet, evolutionary biology; and Eric West, dietetics.
Those who attained tenure were Dr. GwanSeon Kim and Dr. Jacob Manlove, both in agricultural economics, along with 17 individuals who were promoted to associate professor: Carpenter, Clark, Cormier, Dearing, Desai, Fleming, Gotay, Gustafson, Harmon, Isom, Larson, Leitterman, Powell, Pullam, Ruccio, Sweet and West.
